I stumbled onto your site when searching around for some new restaurant suggestions. I am a big fan of Indian food as well and didn't see one of my favorite Indian restaurants mentioned (probably because it's a bit of a drive). Bombay Bistro in Rockville is worth the drive. It's got a good menu, great prices, and good food. The owner also owns Indique which has gotten rave reviews (haven't been yet). Bombay is definitely easier on the wallet - and often has interesting selections. You should try it!

I have been to Bombay Bistro, and I have reviewed Indique as well. I agree, Bombay is a little easier on the wallet and their food is fantastic there.

We were looking for an indian restaurant in the area and I happened to find your website. Based on your reviews we decided to try out takeaways from a Passage to India in Cordell Avenue. We ordered the lamb korma, chicken tikka masala, naan bread and kheer dessert.
The rice portion was very small and I had to defrost rice I had in the freezer. Our main meals had very little meat with more gravy and my husband commented on the lamb being cheap cuts and possibly even not lamb. I was immediately put off as I rarely eat red meat and it tasted foreign to me. It could have easily been beef which I have never eaten for religous reasons (hindu) . We will never return to this restaurant and found the meal overpriced, meal sizes meagre and quality poor. The kheer was too thin and watery and once again an extremely small portion. The naan bread was good and the portions were a good size.
We are new to the area and will try out some of your other restaurant recommendations but after tonight's horrible indian meal will steer clear of indian food for a while.
If you are ever in Columbus, Ohio try out Taj Palace for excellent indian food at great prices. We used to only order one dish and still have leftovers. I feel that we were taken for a ride at a Passage to India and vow never to return.

Hi there,
Thank you Jason. My parents and I had great time at Passage to India..We Live in Arlington , VA and I was looking online for a good restaurant, good food. I got into your web side talking about Passage to India. We went there on Sunday Aug 28th. I loved everything from Decoration to food to service. We had sag gosht, Aloo Dalna ( for my mother Vagon ) and Tandoori Salmon ( for my Father ) and 2 nan breads and 2 Taj mahal indian beers to share.
