Taste of Wheaton

If you're looking for information about Taste of Wheaton 2006, look here.

Sorry for not giving everyone more advanced notice about this, but Taste of Wheaton is today. I have no clue what restaurants are participating, but I plan to go anyway. I've been meaning to check out the new restaurants in the Wheaton area for a while now. It's going on today from 11 AM to 5 PM at Wheaton Triangle: Reedie Drive and Grandview, Wheaton, MD 20902. Tickets are $1 each and get you one taste of food per ticket.

Thanks to Wahoooob for the tip.

So when do we get to read a review of this? :)

Like your website. I eat out quite alot too. Not as much as you but I do stay on top of the scene and know hundreds of restaurant owners.I work at a CPA firm where we work with many restaurants. I am the only person on record to eat at ALL of Bethesda's 255 or so restaurants. I still have to go to Morton's and the Old Homestead when it opens and Chesapeake Chicken and Rockin' Ribs (to keep my title current)when it finally opens after two years of build-out. Look forward to your next issue.

It wasn't very big, so I don't think it deserves a whole review, but here are my observations...

The clear winners of the day were Pollo Sabroso with the pupusas and Hollywood East with the dim sum (especially the pork dumplings). Others were, well...not so good. Nams was there and I'm sure they were good, but I've been there many times before and I wanted to try new things. I mean, that's what Taste Of festivals are all about aren't they?

Not exactly on topic, but I'm still reveling in my Zoofari experience from last night. It was my 3rd year (I volunteer so I get to attend for free) and I felt the best by far. The best dishes came from Teatro Goldoni, Tuscana West, 100 King Street (opening soon in VA?), & the Ritz Carlton, Pentagon City. Kinkead's American Brasserie and Citronelle also had good offerings. Oh, and everyone loved the 1789 lamb, but I didn't taste since I don't eat lamb.

Anyway, wondering if you ever go. I can't think of a better event for a food and wine lover. It's certainly a highlight for me.

Has anyone tried 100 King restaurant in Old Town Alexandria? I had dinner there last week and it was AMAZING! such a great menu, beautiful space and great wine list - i would love a DC foodie official review!
