The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society needs your help! This is a no-brainer people. If you're available to attend this, you should definitely go! It will be FUN, FUN, FUN.
Two DR.com members, Chris Sadler and Binni Chadda, are organizing a 5-course, wine-paired cooking class at L'Academie de Cuisine in Bethesda, as part of an effort to raise $8,400 to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The class will be held Thursday April 20th, at 7 PM.
You'll be taught be Brian Patterson, a L'Academie de Cuisine graduate and a teacher there for the last 15 years; Lydia Schlosser, pastry chef of Cafe Bethesda and most recently of Palena Restaurant in Cleveland Park (she's also been featured on the Food Network's Recipe for Success); and Joe Riley, the wine guru behind Ace Beverage in AU Park. The class will be a demonstration and is suitable for cooks of all abilities -- and the instructors will answer any questions brought up by the audience.
After the class, you will dine on the food your were taught to cook, with each course paired with wines selected by Joe. There are also a few surprises that the organizers have in store for everyone including surprise appearances by local culinary stars. You might even get a chance to meet me! (HA! Like that will encourage people to come?!)
The cost? $125 ($100 of which is tax deductable!). So you get to make a contribution to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, eat some wonderful food, learn new cooking techniques and drink some great wine.
For more information, read all about the event on this thread at DR.com or email Chris at firstname.lastname@example.org. You don't have to be a member of DR.com to participate, so those of you who are hesitant to become a member, don't worry about it. Just go!
